Youth often have inadequate funds and resources to secure a centralized location for co-creating, convening, and accessing advocacy materials. At the same time, youth that do have a centralized location experience redundancy when there is a lack of sharing this resource among youth climate and social justice activists.
Our Climate Collab Centres addresses this gap in the movement by providing youth-led organizations and activists with a safe space for peer-to-peer mentorship, a centralized place for cross-collaborative planning, and easy-access to free resource sharing across what’s currently referred to as Canada.
OVERVIEW
Toronto (Climate ShareSpace)
Climate ShareSpace provides youth with FREE coworking memberships that offer places and spaces to convene, collaborate, and connect with other leaders, innovators, and activists in the climate and social justice movement.
Folks with access to Climate ShareSpace Toronto have access to: hot desks, meeting rooms, lounge spaces, discounted storage and venue space, member gatherings, and more!
Montreal (Activist Resource Library)
The Activist Resource Library is a physical place where youth activists can connect with a greater community, access convening space such as meeting rooms, and borrow FREE resources/equipment to carry-out their direct actions and advocacy efforts.
The library will be stocked with materials such as megaphones, speaker systems, first-aid kits, hi-vests and more for members to access on a first-come, first-served basis.
ELIGIBILITY
ORGANIZATION OR PROJECT
This service is open to youth-led organizations, grassroots groups, activists, and/or projects that are in need of a centralized storage and/or office location.
Applicants should be working towards reducing the impact of the climate crisis in what is currently referred to as Canada, whether that’s through a project/initiative or direct actions/activism.
AGE
Under the age of 31.
CITIZENSHIP
Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, refugee status or a visa.
LANGUAGE
English or French.
