Places, Spaces, and Storage for Youth Climate Work
Climate ShareSpace is a cohort of physical offices and coworking locations
across what’s currently referred to as Canada for youth-led organizations
to utilize for collaboration and storage. These spaces provide
a safe PLACE for peer-to-peer mentorship, a centralized SPACE for cross-collaborative
planning, and a STORAGE area to store and share materials for climate work.
• have a central space to store materials in central urban advocacy locations
• convene and collaborate in a co-working space to strategize and plan their movements
• utilize materials purchased by the youth harbour to prevent redundant costs
Youth need places for collaboration and resources to plan and strategize direct actions and movements. Right now, youth are unable to access adequate funds to secure such spaces for co-creating and convening insofar as they don’t even have a space to store their advocacy materials in a central location. In the meantime, these decentralized spaces necessitates redundant needs and a lack of sharing among youth climate and social justice activists.

A big thanks to our on-the-ground managing partner, CityHive, who will managing the space and activists for us at our Vancouver location. CityHive’s mission is to transform the way young people shape their cities and the civic processes that engage them.
If you would like to be a contributor to Climate ShareSpace and think you might have a space or materials that could be donated, we would love to chat with you about how awesome it is to be a partner with the Youth Harbour!
